Tesla Model 3 – Fan-Made Commercial – “Feel It”

I had the pleasure of working with Jono Seneff on his fan-made Tesla Model 3 commercial.

A VFX breakdown of the hero shot

This shot involved 3D matchmoving as well as some relighting and sky replacement. Jono gave me several 3d models of speakers and scaffolds and I worked to optimize the models and light them to fit within the scene, as well as some wind and cloth simulations.

This project also involved some screen and poster tracking/replacement work. Everything was completed using Blender 3D and Adobe After Effects.

Poster had to be added in digitally, along with a faint world reflection.
The Tesla dash screen needed to be digitally replaced. Lots of roto and headache involved.

I think the ad turned out really great and we’re still hoping Elon Musk sees it eventually.
